T.G.I.F. “Thank Goodness It’s So Fabulous!”

“It’s So Fabulous!” BLOGGER of the Week: One of my all-time favorite bloggers is Seth Godin! His blogs are always filled to the brim with “nuggets of knowledge” that I just can’t get enough of!  I just had to share his latest blog post in its entirety for all of you to enjoy… (…And for the record, I don’t listen to Lady Gaga either… but I simply would not trade Seth Godin’s blog for all the tea in china!)…..

Lady Gaga and me

Do you think it bothers her that I don’t listen to her music and wouldn’t recognize her if she stopped by and said hi?

It shouldn’t.

Even if you’re a pop star, you don’t need everyone to be a fan or a customer. And especially if you’re not a pop star, worrying about whether everyone laughs at your jokes, buys your product or even likes you is counterproductive.

Unless you’re running for something that requires a unanimous vote, it’s a mistake to focus on the frowning guy in the back of the room or the dolt who doesn’t get your subtle references or the miser who isn’t going to buy from you regardless…

You’re on the hunt for sneezers, for fans, for people willing to cross the street to work with you. Everyone else can pound sand, that’s okay. Being remarkable also means being ignored or actively disliked.

BTW, I’m virtually certain that Lady (do her friends call her that?) doesn’t read my stuff, so we’re even.

“It’s So Fabulous!” APP of the Week: I recently learned that Martha Stewart has officially launched an exciting new IPad app, Martha Stewart  Living magazine for IPad ! I do not have an IPad, but this new app looks so fabulous that I am thinking I may need to invest in one! You can download an entire issue of her digital magazine that contains exclusive content only found via her IPad app. And of course, her digital magazine is interactive and contains amazing animation! Some of the fabulous features you will find in this magazine include delicious recipes, how-to guides, behind-the-scene videos, and  even a design contest between two of Martha’s decorating editors. Readers actually have the opportunity to vote for their favorite design! How fab is that!? So, don’t forget to vote for your favorite by clicking my design contest link you just passed!  And take a look at a some of these gorgeous screen shots from the IPad app….

“It’s So Fabulous!” INTERIOR DESIGNER QUOTE of the Week:

“I’ll always put in one controversial item, it makes people talk.”

– Dorothy Draper

“It’s So Fabulous!” DESIGNER HOME of the Week: As many of you already know, I am a “more is more” type of designer! However, this week’s designer home is one that is simplistically beautiful in it’s refined and edited elegance. The home is located in Boston’s distinguished Beacon Hill neighborhood, and is owned by designer, Designer Gregory Van Boven, and his partner.
