Living the Fabulous Life in Your 2nd Home – Part I

Thinking about having a place at the coast or the mountains or perhaps a lake house?

Sounds dreamy, doesn’t it?

You shop the real estate and make a decision and then what?  Don’t pop the champagne just yet! All sorts of questions come to mind that are different when you are planning your primary residence.  A good designer can help you navigate the journey which can be almost as  much fun as 2nd home living itself.  This three part series, first posted in The Sun News (our local newspaper in Myrtle Beach) will break it down for you step by step!

Answering a List of Very Important Questions Can Be a Great Start

As a designer, I begin every project with a list of questions for the client.  They go something like this:

  1. How often will your second home be used?
  2. Will you rent it?
  3. Will there be pets?
  4. Will there be children occupying the space?
  5. On your best day there, tell me a little about what that looks and feels like?

Once you have these answers ready, we will be posting Parts II and III! Stay tuned!
