A few fun facts about Emerald the color and the stone:

Elizabeth Taylor had a beautiful emeralds in her jewelry collection.

  • The Emerald Gem is a stone of love and romance. It brings and enhances joy, cleansing, clairvoyance, memory, and faith.
  • The emerald has long been the symbol of hope.
  • Lucky for love, give your lover an emerald to stay faithful.
  • Traditional Birthstone for the Month of May.

Emerald has definitely made its way into my designs this past year – and I am thrilled to discover new and exciting ways to bring the elegant and rich color to my clients!

Bringing in Emerald into your design does not mean we need to move away from other colors you love like deep, dark browns and mint greens.

I love how this pop of Emerald makes you take a second look at this armoire.  Paired with the yellow flowers and the deep auburn walls, it is warm and inviting compared to the image above where it has a cool and calm feel.

The “emerald” in this image definitely is tending towards the more blue/green side but I really wanted to show you how versatile this color can be from the bedroom to your foyer to the living room!

We cannot forget about the runway either!  Emerald green is at the top of Pantone’s Fashion Color Report for Spring 2013!   This chart is a wonderful tool to see how fabulous Emerald really is and all of the color pairing to go with it!
