T.G.I.F. “Thank Goodness It’s So Fabulous!”

THIS FABULOUS FRIDAY, I HAVE FOUND…

“It’s So Fabulous!” DESIGN BOOK of the Week: My design book pick for this week is called Glamour: Making It Modern, by Michael Lassell. Loaded with tons of photos from the previous pages of Metropolitan Home magazine, this book showcases work from some of the most admired designers in the business. A list of resources for available products is also included.

The perspective of this book is one that embraces the idea that “Glamour is in vogue in homes that are castles (literally) and in one-bedroom rentals at the fringes of downtowns.”

“It’s So Fabulous!” FASHION TIDBIT of the Week: Mayor Bloomberg recently awarded Ralph Lauren a key to New York City upon the opening of his opulent Madison Avenue flagship store. According to Vogue, the new establishment “has indeed been built from the ground up, all 22,000 square feet of it, complete with sweeping ambassadorial staircase and enfilades of elaborately paneled rooms lit with coruscating crystal chandeliers”. The new store will include departments with services such as made-to-measure tailored pieces, a “luxury sleepwear” section in a Hollywood boudoir environment, and custom-monogramming department for Lauren’s famous polo shirts. “It’s So Fabulous!” HOUSE SPACES of the Week: Architectural Digest recently released an article called “Bedrooms by the AD 100”, with photos of some of the most fabulous bedrooms created by renowned designers. Below are a few of the photos of bedrooms overlooking the water. To see the full article with ALL photos and full descriptions, click HERE.

“It’s So Fabulous!” LIGHTING VENDORS of the Week: In yesterday’s blog post, I wrote about lighting, so I thought I would share some of my favorite luxury interior design lighting vendors, all of which I carry selections from at my retail shop, Knotting Hill Interiors. I have used these chandeliers and lamps in Myrtle Beach, Florence, & Charleston, SC interior design projects, as well as in Wilmington, NC, and Savannah, Georgia, interior design opportunities. Stop by the store to let us help you find your perfect lighting fixture…. We even have a few lamps still available in the 50% off sale section, so hurry on in before they are gone!
