Show me your”GREEN”… PART 4

In honor of St. Patties Day, I have continued to talk about “green” in all of my blog posts this week. I recently completed the design of a newly renovated  home in Myrtle Beach, SC , and the client had two main desires… to create an eco-friendly home (a.k.a. “green”) that was also beautiful. Many believe that having an environmentally-friendly home means that it must also appear very basic …  “granola-esque”, if you will. However, this belief could not be farther from the truth. In actuality, there are a plethora of earth-friendly products on the market today that will blend beautifully into any design scheme and create almost any “style” home that your heart desires.

A bedroom in an eco-friendly home I recently designed in Myrtle Beach, SC. This room was shown in one of my prior posts during the design process a few weeks back. I discussd the amazing color on the walls and ceiling, and as promised, here is an updated photo of the room!

This home will be featured in many future blogs, but for now, I want to share with you one idea that is both functional and adds to the overall asthetic of the room.  The kitchen of this home has a bit of a French Bistro influence.  To enhance that look, we selected a stainless French farm sink.  The element that makes a real difference is the foot pedal at the sink.  The foot pedal is easy to use, spouts just the right amount of water and provides extra sanitation since you don’t have to touch faucets with your hands.  This little touch goes a long way in this green-inspired, but lovely design.

Picture of an eco-friendly kitchen from one of my Myrtle Beach interior design projects. This photo was obviously taken before the project was completed (more photos to follow in future blogs), but you can see the stainless steel farm sink on the left that is mentioned above.

I would love to hear some of YOUR green-inspired design ideas, so please share them with me by leaving a comment below.
