Oh, Christmas Tree (Part 1): Toppers

Perhaps the most recognizable symbol of the “commercialized” holiday season is the Christmas tree! For many of us, Christmas trees evoke nostalgic memories of years gone by and are closely linked with all of the warmth and joy associated with the season.

A tree topper is like a glittering crown resting upon the coif of a newly bequeathed beauty queen. Sure, she is lovely without it, but something just isn’t quite complete until that final element has been added. In the same way, a Christmas tree is never fully executed without its “crowning jewel”, the topper. Toppers can start the tree designing process, much like a rug or an inspirational paint color, or they can be added at the end to tie everything together, like a piece of artwork or a throw pillow. Either way, a topper can truly “make or break” the cohesiveness of a themed Christmas tree.

There are endless options for tree toppers! Below are some different “categories” of toppers with a few photo examples of each. Let your imagination run wild! And if you are in need of some holiday inspiration (and cheer!), be sure to stop by Knotting Hill Interiors to check out our fabulous selection of Christmas displays and merchandise!
